Refund and Cancellation Policy
Rules for deposits, cancellations, and refunds on booked desk sessions.
Eligibility
Refunds apply to paid consultation fees and deposits for Desktop Tax Estimate Sessions, Transaction Summary Planning, Filing Season Reviews, and Cost Basis Reconstruction booked with CognitSys Digital.
Timeframe
- Full refund of fees paid if you cancel at least 48 hours before the scheduled start
- 50% refund if you cancel between 48 and 12 hours before the start
- No refund for cancellations inside 12 hours, no-shows, or sessions already begun
Deposits
Deposits hold a calendar slot. They are applied to the final fee. Deposits follow the same timing rules as session fees above.
Non-refundable items
- Third-party document retrieval fees you authorized in writing
- Work already delivered (completed worksheets or summaries sent to you)
- Time spent on file checks that produced a written quote you declined, when that check was prepaid by agreement
Rescheduling
One complimentary reschedule is allowed if requested at least 24 hours before the session. Later reschedules may be treated as cancellations under the timing rules above.
Work already started
If a multi-sitting engagement has begun and partial deliverables were sent, refunds cover only the unused remaining portion, calculated from the written scope.
Process and timing
Email info@cognitsys.digital with your booking name, date, and reason. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 10 business days.
